It has been done many times. Provided the body is sound you shouldn't have any problems with the screen, I recommend a 2x2 through the wheel arches front and rear and two hoists to the ceiling and raise 3 to 4" at a time OR four people lifting evenly and a fifth placing stands under the 2x2s when raided. Rip into floors with a hard wire wheel on a drill. Any sections really bad just get that section, no need to buy a whole floor, all parts are available from various dealers like Limebug, VW Heritage etc. even eBay. New screens from Pilkingtons are available but will take about 1K of your hard earned. see forum thread. eaglecarclub.proboards.com/thread/2278/ss-windscreens-latest-news-ifoPeter

How well is your screen bonded in? My screen had been bonded in DIY which meant you could remove it really easily with a razor blade. If you have lots of restoration to do, it might be worth removing the screen to keep it safe.
As for lifting the body off, you need to undo all of the nuts and bolts around the perimeter of the floor pan, remove the fuel line from the fuel pump. There may be some other brackets between the body and chassis to stop the body flexing and cracking. If your interior has a large metal beam to mount the steering column to, you can put a scissor jack between this and the chassis centre to prise the body off the pan. Once the body is loose, its much easier to lift.

As both floor panels are that bad I would recommend checking frame head, especially the 4 bolt thread area and remove gearshift and front panel and have a good butchers at the tunnel interior. Then when new floor are in, drowned the bugger in anti-rust treatment.
