Hi all I'm in the process of buying a eagle jeep which is first register as 1979 with dvla and as an eagle jeep would this have been pre production as its stated here they were produced from 1981 also it's said to have been manufactured at the EV factory this may explain it being first registered as eagle jeep in 1979?
can you confirm that this is possible?
regards Ronnie

I reckon that 1979 is the age of the donor car. So the V5 may state this as the year of first use. The V5 may state the date of registration as a later date. I don't know how you will stand with road tax exemption and MOT exemption, but I would be interested to find out. I still have to wait 12 years for my car to be exempt.

If it has the donor reg number it will be the date of reg of the donor, RVs were not made until mid 80s, firstly on a VW donor then the VW footprint chassis and finally the ladder frame.

I am pretty sure too that it is the doner car reg date,,,,,but it would be a very young car to donate to a kit project. Is it a VW or Ford based car. All very interesting.
