Hi I am considering buying a eagle RV kit car off eBay based on 1977ford Cortina, will it be road legal, and will it be tax and test exempt. Cheers Pete.

Hi Pete, All Eagles, RV and SS are road legal.
As to the state of the vehicle and it's papers that is on an individual basis.
Most kit cars will require a fair amount of work (and some skills and lots of cash) to be fully road worthy, very few are 'turn key' and ready to go.
If it is registered with the Cortina's 1976 reg number then yes, it will be but if it's a Q then it will be as of date of registration.
If it is the blue and yellow one on eBay then you are good to go and that price is high but not too much IF all he says is true andf it is exempt etc,..
There were many more than 100 made, there are 87 RVs on the register alone including derivatives such as 4x4 etc and probably a dozen on the road.
Hope that helps.
Peter

As a 'kit car' it will have the kit makers number on it, on a VW based kit it will have the VW chassis number, also not a 13 digit VIN. As long as the chassis number and the V5c are a match it is all good.
