It isn't a VW version but a Ford version with a separate chassis, now that brings in the SVA/IVA test. IF one was to go that route I would be inclined to forget the Ford Cortina front engine and go for modifying the rear to take a transverse mid engine with either the Cortina, Triumph or custom built double wishbone/coil-over front end. Unfortunately this is only a chassis and MkII Ford body, no doors, glass (500 quid), bonnet, boot, lights or nose section, what you see it what you get, one chassis and one bare body shell, not a good starting point unless you have 4,000 quid to spare and a lot of old SS parts, time and space. doomed I fear.

Hi Peter
When i mentioned about a possible VW conversion i was thinking more along the lines of modifying the body tub floor pan to fit the VW chassis, all be it a huge project on its own. I know the chassis dimensions for the Ford & VW are of very similar size so wonder if it would be possible?
Massive shame to see this possibly going to the scrappy although needing shed loads of work.

They have the same footprint' see tech page on the web site. Where it sits on the rails they are the same but no bulkheads
Sent from my INGO-TAB using Tapatalk Addendum; IF I were to build another SS it would be on the Ford chassis but with the rear modified for a mid engine along the lines of BigBird's on the Nova forum.
