Ive had an idea, probably been had before but here goes anyway.
Could we take an inventory of all parts and vehicles and parts of vehicles that we as owners of eagles have? There must be folks with doors, roofs, softtops, chassis bits screens etc etc etc that were bought with good intentions but are now surplus. Its galling to think that perhaps there are bits lying about rotting away that would finish off someones car.
From what I read on the forums there seem to be not many on the road eagles all be it for many valid reasons, and I read some threads where it would seem that people have extra doors that , may or may not suit hardtops, and also people looking for these parts. I accept that no one should be pressured into parting with bits, but for the greater good and all that, members should be encouraged to offer these gold dust parts to the members keen enough to get their projects completed.
Perhaps as a club we could try to aquire one good example of each eagle model, using parts sourced from within the membership? Then there would be a guaranteed turnout for each kit car show of the clubs own eagles? Members could turn up at the show cheaply by using public transport knowing that there will be at least the clubs cars on display.
I am happy to go first, i have a spare Eagle RV, 2ltr ford, runs well but needs a roof and doors. available for not much cash. Second hand black soft top, good for a template.
Bye for now.
Allyboy.

Hi guys
Thanks for the interest, this might work out, but it probably needs to be restarted in its own heading. and their should be sub divisions for the different models. Its up to the committee to see if it is required and to set it up.
Cheers.

resting at various locations I have a complete Rv shell, a screen and rubber, hardtop, maybe sliding window doors and lots of cortina/ granada bits.
A mate of mine believes he still has crates of NOS cortina ball joints in his loft -- I have sent him to check this out

This, I believe, is the SS Alex is talking about ;D. In my honest opinion this is the nicest SS I have ever seen. Alex is not the kind of guy who skimps on either quality or cost with this kind of project. More that just hard graft went into this car. It was thought out from start to finish - Alex knew what he wanted & went for it. Anyone who knows me in the slightest would know that I would not make that comment unless I seriously meant it!

hi guys, ive just bought an rv to get some bits off for myself so theres gonna be loads up for grabs!! This rv was about 80% complete but had no paperwork or recipts or anything so was gonna be a nightmare to complete and get on the road!! Potentally theres a very good 2ltr pinto and 4speed box (out of a cortina that had done about 70k), a full body thats never seen the road, likewise a full chassis with mk3 cortina running gear, 5 very good wellers with tyres that have never been on the road!! ( different makes for some reason but pirelli, mitchelin etc, windscreen, roll cage, may also be a perfect soft top and hard doors up for grabs as well but i will let u know about those!! And of course a box of bits!! Just remeber that this rv has never been on the road and has been in a garage or totally covered since orignal purchase !! Feel like Brucie on the generation game!!
Let me know guys
Jon

I have two original fiberglass molded seats with gliders, bolts and foam with covers. Miles on the 1982 Cimbria SS Gull Wing Coupe is 1,190. It never really hit the road. Has a 2000 cc VW and I am redoing the interior red and black, updating the seats. I would like $150 each. If your interested in the new old seats, I have them. ;D

I have an "as new" MK3 Cortina chassis. All new polybushes, springs, calipers etc... Atlas diff. I got it with my SS but i'm building it on a '90 Lotus Excel SE chassis, with the 912 HC engine. Keeping all the Lotus running gear. The SS is now on the Excel chassis, could do with the space back that the Cortina chassis is taking up in my workshop. I'll take some pics of the cortina chassis tomorrow.

View AttachmentWhat's the legal status of the chassis, is it not registered so only good for parts (or IVA) or with reg and V5 so OK for another body as you can't use the SS reg on the Lotus of course, anyway, you will have the Lotus donor reg..
