If you have an Android or iPhone (why) and would like to access the forum, receive notices etc I have added 'tapatalk app, follow the steps below. (I have since simplified it to be eaglcarclub specific.) Forum name is eaglecarclub.proboards.com/Android Devices: Launch the app and then press on the "Me" tab listed at the top of the screen. Press on the "Add Forum" button found at the bottom of the screen As the forum you want to visit has a .proboards.com address simply type in eaglecarclub into the box, then just below the box choose the top option that will display eaglecarclub.proboards.com/. Once selected, press the OK button and you'll be taken to the forum. Apple iOS Devices:: Download and launch the app and press the "Forums" tab at the bottom of the screen, and then press the "+" button found in the top-right hand corner of the screen. In the screen that comes up, type in eaglecarclub.proboards.com. then press the "Done" button in the bottom-right hand corner of the screen.

OOOps Seems I read the wrong list and CUT some things so I've put all back to 'committee' and bump stars to 8. so if you suddenly see your stars shoot up you know what happened. So far that's me, Gary Helen, Don, Terry and There is a 'committee' category under the Members only , hasn't been used in 4 years so don't know if we want to keep it or I can PM the password to committee members leaving the members only board to 'members' stuff rather than committee stuff or are we having an 'open admin policy' so members, and only members, can see the club working., sensitive stuff and insults can be sent by PM anyway

As far as I understand the offices have been available since 2007 when the 2006 committee should have stood down but Roy, Helen and co had carried on due to lack of offers. I for one would love to hear from anyone able to do a good job for us and carry the club forward. There is a lot more to it than most people think though. I applaude the people who turn up at shows year after year and I only wish I could do so myself but to give you an idea, it cost me £450 to come over in 2006 and that was with Tim picking up the hotel and meals. This year I looked into it and with car hire etc it would have been over £600 for three days staying 'down the road' in Cheltenham at my daughter's and there is no way I can (or be expected to) afford that, at least not without serious domestic problems.

As far as i know, no one objected to merging the two sites and the information therein but it was not possible to incorporate ALL of it on the E.O.C. site due to space restrictions and there was reluctance to either see the E.O.C site disappear or loose its identity and it was left to see if this could be overcome. As no one came forward with a solution or the long term commitment to oversee this, it never happened. There is space for additional links from the nav section to additinal pages that can contain this information and I would be pleased to add such pages and links for the benifite of all, no need for a 'new' site. As far as work and commitment goes who do you think redesigned, hosted and maintained the current E.O.C. site, who is the owner of this board? Who has maintained his commitment to the club since 1995? Who took this club from less than nothing in 2004 to a functioning entity in 2006 before stepping down only to see the whole thing nearly collapse? Answers on a 20€ note please.

Pat asked ,"If there was an ACTIVE LINK" and as far as I know there isn't, if you know different please post the URL. we would all be pleased to see it. When I joined the Eagle Owners Club in 1995 it was "Bob's club", no one minded. in 2004 Bob dropped the whole thing in my lap. no members, no committee, equipment and bank account "lost", no web site and no forum, so it became "Peter's club" by default and we had in a short time and a LOT of work, 32 members, a web site, a board, a tent, flag and banner and a committee, I stepped down in 2006 because of accusations from a couple (no more) of people who said it was "my club!", (which in a way it was) and I felt that running chairing the club from here was not in the clubs best interest, see what has happened since, I rest my case. This forum is NOT the club, it belongs to me as the registered owner, it is a facility I made available to the E.O.C. When I saw there was no editing, or cleaning up of the board I asked who was supposed to be doing it and despite several posts no one came forward, so I mealy reverted to the original state. If someone wants to do the job, properly, I would be pleased to let them but in the last 6 years I have had problems getting anyone to take on a sustained commitment, for example, Roy would LOVE to have someone take on the chair but no offers as yet. Who is 'running' the shop, no new stock or sales, who is the membership member? In fact since 2006 there hasn't even been an AGM or elected committee, just members hanging in there keeping things together. Gary, Jason (or any other member/owner) you want the job,? It's yours, either put up or shut up!

Hi all, as I had no luck getting the last administrator to contact me or a committee member I had the admin reset to me, as it was/is my board after all, so they just reset it, I have reviewed the TEAC category and extracted any relevant posts to the appropriate boards and deleted the TEAC presence totally for obvious reasons, like Tim has not be active with TEAC for a couple of years now and may not be again. Shows and events has been moved under general again and the "shows & events" category deleted. this has slimmed the board down a bit. any suggestions or categories you would like to see let me know. I can assure members that nothing has been deleted as it is all archived. Peter

Just got this via e-mail, anyone want to take it foward? Peter Hi, My name is Dez and my family and I run the New Inn at Priddy near Wells in Somerset. I got your contact details from the excellent Club Scene website. Our pub is on top of the Mendip Hills between Cheddar gorge and Wookey Hole and we would love to see your club have a rally at the pub sometime soon. Since taking over in October 2006 we have had visits from Sebring and Harley owners clubs and they were pleased with the way we looked after them. We have excellent parking facilities and are adjacent to the village green making the pub a great place to visit and enjoy some of our home cooked food, real ales and cider. On Sundays we have an ALL DAY carvery with a choice of 3 local meats (the beef is reared in our village). Thanks for reading this email and if we can host a rally for you please get in touch or call me on 01749 676465 or visit our website at www.newinnpriddy.co.uk for further information. Happy driving! Dez Smith

I just got this from Phil and any RV (or I guess Ford based SS) owners know the answer, let us all know.
From: "phil and sarah" <psmlrex@tiscali.co.uk> To: <eagleownersclub@msn.com> Subject: chassis number Date: Mon, 10 Jul 2006 00:48:52 +0100
Can you tell me where i can locate the chassis number on my cortina based R.V.,as the D.V.L.A. and police have asked for the stamped number from the chassis as there is a problem with the registration plates. Your help with this would be appreciated. thanks phil.

A quick visual is to look at the wheel studs, most RV's are 4 stud ford pattern and the Jeep is 5.
Otherwise if you look from the front you can see the diff on the Jeep and leaf springs whereas most RV's are ford based with only rear wheel drive (not all though)

If you clean the edge of the body with a little thinners then apply some Sikoflex into the channel of the rubber trim (I would get new stuff, I just did, or gently squeeze the steel grippers in the trim together a bit first) and then tap it firmly onto the body with the joint at the centre bottom, (near the catch).
NO, those seats will not fit, ANY sports seat will require at least 20" width ON THE FLOOR, (47cm BASE = 19") +- you will have at best 17.5". and with a fixed back you will need to be under 5'10" as dropped floors will be useless. As we have said, the best seats for the job are the Bedford Rascal / Suzuki Carry Hi-back recliners. You can get narrow "roadster" seats from both Cobra and Intertrim of Telford that will fit but they are narrow under the legs, fixed back and hard on the arse, Oh yeh, expensive!

I must admit the only people (if one can call them that) who like being beasted were my cadets, they loved it! problem was as I didn't swear like a trooper they called me "Sir" and that got me in deep water with the inspecting officer one year because although I was a Sergent I was also platoon commander and being a bit more civil than the average NCO their answer when asked why they called me sir was," he doesn't act like a Sergent, more like an officer". My bother in law to be was a W.O. in the SAS (now head of security for B.P. Egypt) is the most unlikely SAS soldier let alone a W.O. I have ever met!, mild mannered, glasses, slim, a long way from my CSM Jack Stathers in 1960 who was straight out of WWII and National Service, shortish, built like a bull bog and LOUD, VERY LOUD who put the fear of God up you but could also be a father to the young lads far from home for the first time if needed, but a walking cliche for all that but we did what we were told, when we were told in the menner we were taught, without question or answering back (God forbid!) but still thinking for yourself as well. Happy days, I miss them a lot some times. Take the advice of an older man Jon, whatever you are offered, however green the grass seems over the hill, stay put, put up with it and go for the pension. The army spends years and millions of pounds training and programing soldiers and about 50 quid undoing the work so they can join civvy street.

Steve is taking care of membership at the moment as he has to have the money anyway it made sense to combine the two jobs, I'm sure if anyone wants to do membership he wouldn't be too upset. Looks O.K. and the format is correct now without the redundent 'Date from', but I thought we had agreed at Stoneliegh that ALL EOC stuff was going to have the standard Eagle club logo on? this one goes back 20 years! Still a bit too late to worry about that now, like 500 too late and better than nothing. still, that's just my opinion.

"What happened was", as Jethro would say, is I have pulled off the member's cars so I can get a more realistic page set up. What I would like to do is a slant on the old pages that Bob (who?) had with just a picture and a bit of basic info for each member, then a link to both Nova's gallery (with Steve's permission of course and likewise to Simon's Gallery). Those MEMBERS who submit photos and text to build a page like what mine was will get a page dedicated to that rebuild or as in JonL's case, a link to his (out of date) own page. What do you think?

The basic body shell is the same and the Ford chassis was made to be the same footprint as the VW chassis so the theory is if you chop out the floor pan / tunnel and trim to fit front and rear, add right angle 10mm thick glass fiber to join front and fear bulkheads to chassis and bolt on, it should be possible to do but also the engine bay will need boxing in to provide a boot and strengthen the front and the rear boot chopped out to allow the engine/ fuel tank, etc. to fit. You would also need to fill in the hole in the front bulkhead where the Ford's centre tunnel was too. It’s a lot of work and a lot of glass fiber too. If I was going to do that much work I think I would either get VW kit like mine and spend the time and money on the engine and trim or if you are really hell bent on being different then go the whole hog and go transverse mid-engine using the complete VW Golf engine / Sub frame or simular, behind a removable rear bulkhead on a custom build chassis with independent front wishbone suspensions as described in my earlier ramblings on the board. I have seen it done on a SS using a chopped VW floor pan and an Alfa Delta unit, with a flip back rear end but if you made the rear bulkhead removable for service access you could get away with that BIG job. What ever you decide we will all be here to help where we can. Peter
