Yeah - I really miss JonL on here also.
I think that he is preoccupied with work & family commitments right now.

I'm Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have spent some of my time away thinking about the SS so beware! Still planning the complete rebuild and slight re-style as before. I have been given a 306 S16 which will now donate it's engine and running gear to the project. This si the 2l Iron blocked engine that Peugeot used to make its turbo charged rce engines from. The head is a twincam 15 valve design and the internals are really strong. 200 hp watch this space!
I have been discussing the merits of putting a modern FWD setup into the back of a Beetle with someone who put a Volvo T5 in the back of his, AND REGISTERED it legally as a Beetle without having to SVA it. It all comes down to the definition of "UNALTERED CHASSIS" and that has now been proved as finishing at the rear torsion housing. This I am currently removing the engine from its donor and wil be making a frame up soon.
Will tyr to take some pics and post them up soon, as well as updating my website. Must also pay my subs as I cannot get back into the Member Only area! Opps!!!
Good to be back,
Jon
