Great day out by the look of it 4 Eagles is an improvement, I only wish just some of those with Eagles I KNOW could be on the the road would make the effort.
Great the see the flag still going strong, been a few years now.

The last time I attended Newark was in the early 90’s and to be frank I can’t remember much about it. Long gone are those 80’s 90’ glory days of Kit car shows where there were numerous taking place. No comparison to the past is intended and the following review of the show is done with a fresh look and an appreciation it is now a niche event in the car calendar. Many of the club members got to the showground on the Friday so they could set their tents up and prepare for the weekend. I was told they had a good night out on the Friday where they relaxed and enjoyed a drink or 2 or 6. On the Saturday the gates opened at 9; 30, my son and I got there by about 10; 00 and already there were many cars in attendance. We had four cars on the Club pitch on the Saturday and the immaculate Green Landrover Eagle joined us later on the Sunday. We had a very tasty and filling Club BBQ early Saturday evening followed by indoor entertainment with a Bar later . The band was called ‘Distorted Decade’ who mainly played light rock. Saturday was the better day as some of the cars went home at the end of that day. The weather was good with no rain. A warm wind kept the flags flying and anything else that wasn’t weighted down. We have a new yellow banner to welcome people to our pitch and George brought 2 new flags on a very tall roach pole as can be seen on the photo, the white rose is emblem of Yorkshire and the other is a parrot saying “its five o’clock somewhere. I found it be a very enjoyable weekend and it seemed to go very quick and I’m now looking forward to next years Newark Kit Car Festival. All credit goes to my son Tom for the photos.

Shades of the earlier shows in the 90s when it was pretty much RV land. I hope some SSs and others come out of the woodwork next year I know Chaz's SS is road ready, just mothballed in a garage somewhere and a couple of others. Jose Miguel and I might make it to a show next year but as I am getting ancient and he is a doctor timing is everything.
