I have been trying to keep things going for a couple of years now and all I'm getting is apathy, these things do not run and maintain themselves you know and to be honest I am getting a bit fed up seeing my name in the last post all the time as no one seems bothered anymore.
Turn out to shows is pathetic, I know the cars are out there, I've seen them, people just can't be assed to get them out and pay a months tax and insurance whilst I can spend 600 quid and travel 1,500 miles and for what, I received more welcome at the VW buggys. There are at best 10 people out there with half an interest in getting an Eagle on the road and most are RV owners, build diaries are gone, projects seem to be abandoned, even the word game is dying.
Unless there is a serious increase in interest I am going to pull the plug, I have better things to do and I very much doubt anyone else could be bothered let alone miss the forum.

Hi Peter I know how you feel we have had this problem for a while on the other forums that we help run / moderate. You put a lot of effort in for no real return from the members. I don't have any answers for you. But I for one would miss the forum as I come on and look everyday. I am not going to post in threads about SS's as i know very little about them and the RV posts are few a far between these days I hope you have a change of heart but I wouldn't blame you if you didn't. Thank you for all that you have done to keep it going to date. Gary

I appreciate all that you do on here. its been great being able to talk and see others threads on here. its helped me greatly with my rebuild. I know how you feel as I was on the committee of a classic car club. no one would help but they would create hell if there was no club stand or monthly news letter. Please keep up the good work. Don't let the Eagle die.

I wouldn't blame you Peter and know how you must feel. You, Gary & Helen have put in a lot to this club.As a member myself I have attended the Eagle club pitch at stoneleigh and Newark with or without my RV and have witnessed the dismal attendances. In fact at Newark one year I was the only one there apart from Gary & Helen who have never missed a show. I think a big change happened when Simon and Jason left, and also some members just seam to have dissapeared. Back then we had SS's, RV;s and 2 P21's at the same time. But whatever we say or do we cannot make people attend shows or post on here, the interest in Eagle cars just is not there any more, sad but true.

Sometimes people have other things on their head , which does not mean that there is no interest any more in the eagles , it would be a disaster for our cars as this wealth of knowledge would be lost. I know that I was practically not on the forum, and that for various reasons , and by the way that is for all the forums like that, even those where I post daily . I can only hope that this forum will survive the rage of facebook, and you can be d**ned shure that once all the worries are out of my head there gonna get daily questions and photos of the resto.

Hi Peter.
I know I'm one of the ones who came on here all enthusiastic last year (or was it even the year before?!), but have since been very quiet. I DO intend to get my finger out, tho', and get stuck back in to my RV soon. Once I get under way, you'll be begging me to stop making posts... ;-)
I know it's pathetic, but I can honestly say that I have a feeling of guilt for not sorting my Eagle out sooner than now; guilt mainly due to this forum and the work being put into it, and the hope & expectation of the the other owners for more of our cars to be saved.
Sometimes it ain't quite enough for me to just look out at my poor RV and be driven by the desire to be back behind the wheel with a big grin on my face again. So "thank you" to you and the other owners, and to this forum for sending out that invisible guilt beast to sit on my shoulder and prod me so repeatedly that I can no longer ignore it...

It isn't cast in steel, yet, so plenty of time to mull things over, marry in haste and all that.
The question has been raised by Gary regarding RV owners, of course RV owners will be catered for, RVs were the mainstay of the E.O.C. back in the 80s and continue to be so today, it's probably the more utilitarian aspect of the RV that has saved it from being chopped about to make a 'dream' car and finally scrapped or stripped of their VW parts and the body ditched, both of which has been the fate of so many SSs.
Dan and I are only kicking the idea around at the moment but if there is a majority in opposition then those people had better make it happen and not rant and disappear, so far it has all been in favour bar Gary's legitimate concern on the RVs which I hope I have addressed.
The idea I am putting together for Dan is that there is a major category for EAGLE OWNERS,(all) this will be sub divided into SS, RV and others as now with technical aspect such as bodywork, engine, electrics, etc taken care of under euro-nova's headings already there, so the only difference will be the opening onto the forum which will remain 'euro-nova', which already includes Avanti owners and Club Nova members. So a RV owner could just as easily go to the 'engine' threads for instance, as there are Ford SS owners as well as Subaru, Alfa and Honda engined cars there, likewise with chassis as the SS and RV Fords are the same and the rest are (nearly all)VW and electrics are everyone's nightmare, (and as a professional auto electrician I say, thank heavens).
Keep in mind, "Club membership" and "Forum membership" are not one and the same and the 'club' aspect will continue separately as now with discounts, etc as before. Access to the E.O.C. web site will remain open to all and unaltered apart from the forum link which will be direct to the E.O.C section of the euro-nova forum and I will continue to keep the site and register up to date on a trimester basis as now.

Hi, thanks for keeping it as long as you have. I am not really one to be on forums so only pop in very occasionally, but have found it useful, and when rebuilding my RV I looked through pictures for ideas. Being in Devon i had hoped to break my show cherry at the westpoint show which has now been cancelled from what I can tell. Thanks for working to preserve the information here, and making provision for somewhere going forwards!

Nearly there, still lot to do. It is planed that the forum will remain fully active until end of September when it will go 'read only' and all current members will have been transferred by Dan and notified by Email. current members will not have to anything, it will all be done for you.
You will see bobbybrown as "nova coordinator, this gives Dan certain (by no means ALL) powers to transfer data and post emails etc)

Just to let you know two things, one Eagle Cars are the best and the club and everything that goes with it is invaluable. I am an old, (very, I'm 52 now!!!)Eagle Jeep owner, lover, and bought an old RV Jeep a year ago that will be under going a MAJOR rebuild over the winter. Havn't owned an Eagle Jeep for over 20 years now!and cant waite to get 'airbourne' again. We need the club, the contacts, spare parts availability and any other help we can give each other. Yes, things are hard, with the economy and apperant lack of interest in Kit Cars with the younger generation but we should plod on undetered. The other, point for all it's worth, regarding the entreys in the Eagle register list is that my RV is the one NMX 700V which is now in storage in Glasgow. Lets make this thing continue to work!!!! The forum, I mean, not just my Jeep! (dated 14 Aug. 2015).

It has been a while since the future of the forum was in question and it is still here and still has an occasional post . The swap over to the euro-nova forum was a bust, very little interest in that and the few who did register have been very quite since. There is a lot of movement out there and some new cars will be ready for Stoneleigh this year, how many will actually make it I have no idea, I do know that it's 99% sure I will not be there, I can't afford it on my so called pension which is a shame as I would love to be there and see first hand some of the new stuff. All I ask is that the people who do log on, (see bottom of home page) actually post something from time to time, even if about NOT doing something, maybe why, so we can all understand what happened to certain cars that were all 'full steam ahead' a year or two ago.

To be honest, I was already several times on the euro nova forum, but it does not appeal to me. Do not ask me why but it is different from the Eagle Forum. On the SS i have done anything for different reasons only the donor is now in my barn, the new workshop is now a fact, just oldtimers and kitcars gone get their restoration and maintenance, so it for me it is a litle dream. The intention is that fellow classic car enthusiasts can also go to carry out certain works, and they can then use for free my experience to solve their problem. Next thing to do is transport all the machinery to there new home. Attachments:

Hi Luc,
Great to see you on here again, it gives me new hope for 2016 and I hope you are over the illness that was a problem last year.
Is that picture of the new workshop?
I see a nice VW engine with a Porsche fan in it, I have always loved that style but could never afford it.
Pleased to hear the SS is still on the list of things to do, any help needed just ask.
Looking forward to more updates my friend.
Peter

yes this is the new workshop It is a real Porsche engine and that is not as expensive as some claim .the engine comes from a 914 and has been completely rebuilt and tuned. the exhaust is a Diy project and hand made in the old shop. I thinck I still have some pics from the rebuilding, iff you like to see it I will post them somewhere on the site.

Always good for some photos, especially of a Porsche engine build. What sort of power is that as standard?

In a final (probably) attempt to get things moving again I have revamped the web site.
I could use a few more 'members cars' please, send some JPG of your project or complete car as most of the ones I have with a couple of notable exceptions have disappeared. just a couple or three will do about 4" to 6"-ish, front, side, rear sort of thing, interior if decent.
Thanks Peter

Peter Just had a look at the register and you show our RV as no dvla trace? I just ran the check myself using just the reg and Eagle and all the details appear. When you have a spare minute could you please look into it for us, It will show another that has not been striped and hopefully after the weekend it will show another back on the road as it is insured and taxed which it has been since last year(forgot to cancel as I didn't know the MOT had run out) Thank you.

Hi Gary, The status on the register is at the time of entry and never current, obviously to constantly check the status of all 148+ cars would be impossible, rumour has it I do have a life, sometimes, somewhere . I will in your case do an update in the next version based on the above info rather than trust the DVLA, who couldn't even find my licence but still issued a renewal in 5 days, it is very hit and miss as to what they have up to date. Great to see the RV still up to scratch and on the road. Peter

That workshop is very impressive DIY. I have had a quote for a workshop in my back garden. It would be 6.5 meters by 8.5 with walls 3 meters high. But I have a narrow shared driveway and would need my neighbour to agree to move his gate post back about half a meter. I would have the base done this year and the workshop built next year when I have saved some more money. At the moment the eagle is parked on the driveway in front of The house.

for a long time it was a to have such a workshop, and sometimes dreams can come true, thanks for the compliment. At this moment I can not do as much because i'm injured, but as soon as it can the other machines also come there. Here the friends call it a theme park for big boys. hopefully you can enjoy in the future of your workshop.
