The chsssis on a VW is just the centre tunnel and rear torsion bar tube so with a V5 it's worth money.

have spent another weekend cutting out rot and welding. gem, my fiancée, is welding now as well, she is actually better than me. all that's left to do on the floor is to take it back to bare metal and repaint it, that will be another weekend job

And some more. Hope to have the chassis completed this weekend but I've killed 2 grinders already and just had to buy another.

Bit of a bitsa that SS MkII body, MkI doors, god only knows what happened to the headlights? Lot of bodywork to sort out by the look of it.

Yeah tell me about it. The bulkhead has been hacked up bad to get a brake servo in use. But we will get there. All part of the fun of restoring a classic.

Another area to look at is the four main bolt threads on the frame head, main rust area is around those

Always the case, even on a 'new' build there are areas that need attention. Great to see progress.

I'm very lucky man. my fiance is heavery into her classics and is putting as much work into the eagle as I do. She loves welding mechanical work and loves getting in there with the fibreglass and resin.

You are a very lucky man indeed, all I get is moaned at about the dust and smells, so I moved to a garage 20 miles away and I STILL get moaned at. The only time my wife likes classics is when someone compliments her on the BMW E30 she is driving, MINE.

Well nearly all the fibre glass repair work done. Just got to tackle the boot floor. I've cut it out already and it's had some very poor fibre glass work done and 16 years of weather attack it. but we will repair it and make good.
