just thought I'd ask. has anyone had problems with brake balance ? i.e. rear brakes locking up before the fronts ? I'm not at that stage yet but thought I'd ask in case I need to consider factoring a brake bias valve into the system ....

Hi Brett, Due to the light weight of the Ford SSs rear end it is normal to have the rears lock up. Chaz got round this with a Sierra disc rear end on his Cortina chassis (and fitted callipers inboard as well, as if it wasn't difficult enough). Brake bias valve is a good idea if not using dual cylinder pedals with bias bar.

already got the Cortina rear end with drums in place. probably easier ( I think ) having a bias valve plumbed in. seems easy enough ... famous last words Brett

I used one on my 7, you plumb in it and can alter the angle to even out the braking force, very easy to fit....
