Does ANYONE come on here to see if anything is going on? As far as I can see we might just as well pack in the EOC site and all bugger off to Euro-Nova where there is a vestige of interest on what is going on. It seems that since I resigned in 2006 no one gives a shite any more and the whole thing is a waste of time. It saddens me to think of the hard work I put in the drag the EOC from NOTHING to 30 plus paid up members and attendances at shows with the marquee and banners etc, to the dead beat shambles it is now. The so called committee do bugger all and can't even get the EOC site subscriptions payed, it's only a tenner every two years and we risk loosing it all.

You should have an email from Helen about the fee's Peter. If not then let me know and I will see to it. As for the club there hasn't been a club as such for about three years now. No one turned up to any A.G.M.'s we held three separate meeting trying We get about three inquires a year about joining and no one other than Terryroy, Grom,Scorpio and myself (all be it in a different car) every turn up to the shows. I come on here every night to hopefully help things along but there hasn't been much going on. The other web site has technical problems that are being dealt with all be it a little slowly. The only member's of the committee left are Helen and Chris and they have not been well so I have been watching over things. The bank balance is healthy enough to pay for the web site for a good few years yet. The problem is I believe that David handed over the web site with out giving any details of who to where to etc. It can be dealt with and will get sorted and I will keep trying to push the club forward but they are difficult times.

I have sorted out the web site and fowarded the details to Helen for payment and arranged with Grade1 to re-instate the EOC site which is now running again. Helen just needs to send the cheque to Steve. Peter

Cheque was sent in this afternoons post.
If they had sent the invoice to me then I would have paid it by return as requested.

Thanks Helen, have you updated Steve at Grade1 about future communications to come to you? I know the renewal is for two years. What to do about the club, Hmmm that will take some thinking about, is there a call for one anymore, I know it took Linda and I a lot of work contacting all the owners we had on the register in 2004 and a lot of chasing up to get things moving again, is it really worth it, what can we offer that the forum doesn't?

I believe that you have hit the nail on the head with the internet idea. What can a club give them that they can't get for free The Kind of people who buy Eagles seem to just build/play with them and not take part in the social side of things, There are of course a few exceptions but what can we do if there are only a handfull of us? Facebook and all the other social sites are conditioning us to this kind of living There are many other clubs out there with the same problem There are also some which do have a good social side but they too take a lot of organising (I am events co-ordinater for one such club) and even with a good number of members, we still only manage to get the regulars and committee turning up to the shows and meets all be it with a few of members to whom the show is local. As was discussed between Myself, Chris, Helen and Terryrob a couple of shows back, I believe that the best course is to continue to help where we can on here. and see what happens. We will still book the club into the shows as we always have. It's not such a big thing with the organisers now as it used to be as they no longer supply free tickets for clubs (cost cutting measures) so they don't go to waste as they have done in the past.

> haven't kept up with the program, seem to have missed these posts Personally, I think all Types of clubs are having a hard time, we have added our Motor Club ( 40 paid up active members) to Facebook >>>> and low and behold we have daily activity, members are chit-chatting away merrily and more are attending local events. Free to set up, easy to use, chat facility and most homes go on it daily!! The marque deserves better than it getting from its membership, four years ago Peter resigned, that was the last and only agm/egm I remember. We are well aware that no new Eagles may hit the road > so I would like to keep as many on the road ( or in restoration) as possible and without EOC and its website these could become extinct, so my vote would be please keep plodding along, but if someone cannot carry on in a post , please advise , there maybe an enthusiastic person wanting to assist. Hopefully 2011 will see a few more on the road, posts in this forum show a few near completion

I don't even have a Face book account ;D And from what I hear from other car forums that I visit/use, May I say that I am glad that no one uses it as Face book has killed off a lot of club forums like this one

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO!Yes I'm still around Unfortunately my 89 year old Mum has been in hospital for the last 16 weeks, and although she is now home, my time, and mind have been elsewhere As far as we left it some months ago. I thought we had decided that the Club wasn't moving forward after the wrench in members (leading to the formation of the ACC) that Linda created. And that we had more than sufficient funds to keep the website running for years to come, and that the club should remain as "web based only" for the forseeable future.
